What to Feed Your Pet
Proper nutrition is as important for your pet as it is for yourself. We should always attempt to choose the best possible foods for our pets, attempting to insure wholesome ingredients, vs. fillers and animal by products. Many pet owners are now moving toward the specialty brands, organic brands, and / or human grade brands. Whatever product one chooses, read the label carefully for content and feeding instructions. Monitor your pet’s weight and work with your veterinarian to maintain proper weight. Some pets will require specialized foods such as puppy size, senior, or weight management.
Recent reports of pet food recall demonstrated the need to be careful in which foods one chooses and to monitor your pet for any behavior or medical changes. Due to the pet food recall, stricter monitoring of food sources and ingredients are occurring, but even human foods are recalled, such as the massive recall of ground beef from a Southern California meat plant.
